20-4-12 is a nationwide initiative that will inspire young people across the UK to participate in sport, and to identify twenty potential sporting champions with the talent to compete for Britain at the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
20-4-12 brings together a number of key partnerships with organisations such as Clubs for Young People. Many of our 400,000 members come from inner city areas, traditionally difficult for young people's programmes to reach. Despite this, CYP has an 80 year track record of using sport to inspire young people, with past members including Amir Khan, Alan Shearer and Jason Robinson.
Simon Antrobus, Chief Executive of CYP said “We are delighted to be partners in 20-4-12 as we see it as a way to give all young people the opportunity and chance they deserve, irrespective of their background. CYP are dedicated to supporting young people, and are delighted to offer this initiative throughout our network across the UK”.
